From Neighbours to Partners: The Birth of BOW Events

The Scottish Borders is more than just a place on the map; it’s a living testament to heritage, community, and the deep connection between people and the land.

Generations of families have worked in harmony with nature, building lives rooted in a shared understanding of hard work, resilience, and the beauty of the countryside.

That very spirit of connection is the foundation of BOW Events — a partnership between Beirhope Alpacas and our neighbours at Over Whitton Farm, where we’ve joined forces to create something truly special.

This collaboration was born out of a simple, yet profound realisation: together, we can offer something even greater than the sum of our individual strengths. The bond between our families is as natural as the rolling hills that surround us, and BOW Events represents that sense of unity.

A partnership steeped in tradition

Robert and Nicky, along with their family, have dedicated their lives to farming the land at Over Whitton. Every hill, every ridge, every breath of fresh air carries the legacy of their hard work. For them, farming isn’t just a job; it’s a way of life, shaped by generations of knowledge and a deep respect for the land. Their cattle grazing on the green pastures have long been a symbol of tradition and sustainability, with values passed down through the years.

The connection they have to their farm mirrors our passion at Beirhope Alpacas. For years, we’ve been inviting visitors to experience the magic of the Borders with our alpaca treks, workshops, and farm products. We’ve always been driven by the desire to share the authentic rural life, and now, with Over Whitton, that vision has evolved into something even more meaningful.

The Birth of BOW Events

When we began talking about collaborating, the idea of BOW Events felt like a natural evolution of what we were already doing. We both strive to offer authentic, heart-filled experiences that bring people closer to the countryside and to each other. By merging Over Whitton’s deep farming expertise with our passion for creating unforgettable experiences, we knew we could offer something unique.

BOW Events is not just another events company—it’s a reflection of life in the Borders. It’s about celebrating community, heritage, and the land that sustains us. Whether it’s a small wedding surrounded by nature, a seasonal celebration of local traditions, or a bespoke event that brings together the best of both our farms, BOW Events is a celebration of the life we love.

A Vision for Unforgettable Moments

Picture a wedding in the Scottish Borders: the hills stretching out as far as the eye can see, Robert and Nicky’s cattle grazing peacefully in the distance, and the warmth of generations-old hospitality surrounding you.

Our vision is to create these kinds of moments—authentic, immersive, and deeply rooted in the community we call home. Every event we host reflects the beauty of our shared land and the people who care for it.
